“Mother of Shadows” isn’t sentimental—it’s solemn. Manos does not gild sainthood; he engraves its cost. The wrinkles, etched in gold, don’t soften—they cut. This is Mother Teresa not as symbol but as scar: every line a record of suffering absorbed, every crease a ledger of unseen lives touched. The black void that surrounds her doesn’t threaten—it cradles. It’s the silence she worked within. Gold glitter should feel excessive—but here, it feels earned. Manos doesn’t prettify her.
